What Is Strength!

I believe strength is one of the most powerful qualities one can posses. As a StrongFirst and Strength Matters instructor my passion is to Help, guide, and motivate people to become stronger more efficient humans. Strength builds all the other important qualities, without strength there is weakness.

The benefits of strength are endless. After 5 years as a strength and movement coach I have witnessed first hand the power of strength. Everyone wants be be stronger, and it is important for everyone no matter if its a athlete, stay at home mom, or senior.

Strength will not only improve your overall performance and health, but it will also make you more efficient at every day life and that is whats most important to me. The approach to training I study and practice is quite different then your typical training regimen. Its one thing to be strong in the gym but its different thing to be strong out of the gym. Mark Reifkind says it best "be all day strong". My definition of a strong healthy human is having the right amount of mobility, motor control, and a deep skill level in all of the fundamental movement patterns.

As a fitness professional I know the most important goal for my students is strength and movement quality, Most of the people I work with have very similar goals, most of them want to loose weight, some of them want to get stronger and others want to feel better. all these goals require the same thing strength and movement quality.

Over the years I have created a list of abilities we as humans should be able to perform. I call it the Superhuman test. This serves as a powerful motivator for all my students it gives them a safe realistic goal to work towards.

THE SUPERHUMAN TEST

1. 1 arm swings 240 in 10 min (this test is in my ebook "unlock your inner

superhuman") Men 28-32kg Women (16-24kg)

2. Farmer Walk (bodyweight)

3. Front Squat (60% bodyweight)

4 pull-ups 5 (Men) Bent arm hang :30 (Women)

5.Turkish Get-up Men (20-24kg) Women (12-16kg)

Completion of this test is a true measure of ones strength, mobility, endurance, and motor control.

The program I outline in my ebook is a great place to start working towards these goals.
